Last week, I had the pleasure of being the guest speaker for the ABWA Fleur De Lis Chapter. I love meeting and connecting with women who want to grow themselves and their businesses. It was amazing how many women wanted to start their New Year off with my People Pleaser No More™ System. | THIS WEEK'S SUCCESS PRINCIPLE | |||||

Quote: "Even the best laid plans can go astray." - Cookie Tuminello You know how you can be going along smoothly and all of a sudden you hit a pothole. Since January 1, there has been a change in my household and usual routine. My daughter, Gina and my three grand children, Brady, Zachary, and Bella are staying with me temporarily. The plan was that she and the children would be gone all day allowing Mimi the quiet time to take care of her business. This past week the plan hit a pothole. Baby Bella got sick and not able to go to day care and then Brady and Zachary were out of school for two days. So needless to say, my quiet domain was not so quiet anymore. And before you know it, I got caught up in trying to fix everything and everybody. Talk about wrong answer. By Friday, I was frustrated and grumpy because I was not taking care of me. So when I took time to get quiet and take stock, I realized that I was not following my own People Pleaser No More™ System steps. I realized that I had not been writing down my intentions at the beginning of my day so that I could succeed and I was not using my core values to make my decisions. Consequently, I gave away my power. Once I was able let go of my impatience with myself and the need to take care of everybody else, I was able to reconnect to where I was going in the first place. Here's the deal. Even the best laid plans will go astray. And there will always be potholes in life. Our work is to learn and grow from the experience, put in strategies to take better care of ourselves next time, and then let go and move on.
