I'm back. Happy New Year to you. I totally enjoyed my time off to regroup, refocus, and rejuvenate. I spent some quality time with family and friends and I benefited from my "Me" time. I took the time to take a look at where I had been and where I want to go in the new year. Last year was a fabulous break-out year for me and 2008 is going to be even better. My commitment this year is to make 2008 the best year ever by putting me first, living with intentionality, dwelling in possibility, and taking action to make it happen. This week's success principle is about taking control of your destiny. And we all know I am all about helping you create the success and happiness you want and deserve in your life. When you think about it, who better to design your future than you? Today, I am sharing with you the steps that I used to create a fabulous break out year in 2007 which are the same steps that I will use to make 2008 my year of "Outrageous Success." My commitment to you this year is to continue to give you the tools you need to go from being overwhelmed, overworked, and overpowered, to achieving more productivity, more profit, and more power than you ever dreamed possible. Put your future in good hands - your own." - Mark Victor Hansen That's right. You control your future and your destiny. I know you may think that others control your future but they don't. Your choices brought you to where you are in your life right now, whether they were good, bad, or ugly. And if you don't like where you are, then it is up to you to change it. If you are ready to make this year your best year ever, then you are going to have to take a stand for YOU. Nobody is going to give it to you. Nobody is going to take you seriously if you don't take yourself seriously. You will have to learn how to take back your power, put YOU first, and take committed action to make it happen. No More People Pleasing! The sooner you start working on kicking your People Pleasing habits out the door, the better your life is going to be. The havoc of being caught up in this never ending cycle of pleasing everyone but yourself wears you down, both mentally and physically. I know. I've been there. So where do you want to be at the end of this year? New Year's resolutions just don't cut it for me because they always feel like "should's" instead of choices. I prefer to set intentions and make commitments for my new year. And when I do, I'm more committed to making it happen. I then write it down in my journal so it makes it real to me. My intention this year is to make 2008 the best year ever. I'm getting excited just talking about it. So how do you make this happen? You plan for it. Here are the steps that have worked for me and I know will work for you. I determine where I want to be at the end of 2008. What do I want that to look like? How is it going to feel when I get there? I create my vision of what I want my year to look like. For example: This year my intention is to double my business. Here are the questions that I ask myself to help me get there. What is that going to look like in dollars? Clients? More Monday Morning Coffee With Cookie subscribers? Develop more products? Speaking engagements? Marketing? Is my vision in keeping with my Core Values? Core values are what keep me aligned with my integrity so I don't second guess myself. What's working and what's not working in business? What do I need to change to make it work better (and easier)? What are the action steps that I need to take to get to this next level of success? What is the time frame for my action steps? What kind of support will I need to make it happen? What requests will I need to make? What are the obstacles that get in my way and hold me back? How will I handle them and move through them? How will I feel when I achieve my vision? I can tell you right now, I will be beside myself with joy. How will I reward myself when I achieve my vision? How will I feel a year from now if nothing has changed and I have taken no action? There you have it your 2008 Success Strategies.
